Our innovative products are 100% vegan — with gluten-free* and Kosher offerings — that capture the flavors and sensations of meat and cheese — minus the animal products

* Please note that our kitchen is not a dedicated gluten-free facility. While we make every effort to produce our gluten-free items in a clean environment, trace amounts of gluten may occur.

Products are usually good for about 10 days once purchased at the shop. If vacuum-sealed and shipped, should last up to two weeks unopened in the fridge. Once you’ve opened the package, you have around 3–5 days to consume your food.

Everything we make also freezes really well, and with the cheeses we recommend you melt them in whatever dish you're making after they've been frozen (the coconut oil won't thaw to room temperature properly). We never freeze anything before shipping or displaying it in the cases.

We offer two different digital gift cards: one for shipping orders and the other for local orders.

For both cards, the system will require you to provide the email address of the recipient. If you don't know their email, you can enter your own email address. The digital cards will have a code that can be used at checkout.

For shipping orders only: Order your digital gift card here.

Send this card to someone who will place their order and have it shipped to their address anywhere in the US and Puerto Rico.

For local orders only: Order your digital gift card here. Send this card to someone local to Minneapolis, MN, who will place their order on our SQUARE site to schedule their pick-up.

They can also bring the email with the gift card code and show it to us at the checkout counter, and we will ring them up using it.n goes here

Shipping

To ensure vegans and omnivores across the country can enjoy our products, Herbivorous Butcher offers *free* domestic shipping to all 50 states and Puerto Rico. Shipping and handling costs are built into the price of our products — so you can bring your faves to you without the hassle.

About your order

As soon as possible! This year, we’re revamping our production processes to ensure we have products in stock all year long. For example, if you place your order on a Sunday, it will ship out on Monday or Tuesday of the following week. Shipping still takes 2-3 days with UPS, depending on your location and if Saturday delivery is available in your area.

To offer free shipping on all our orders, we require that if you are purchasing single items, you must select at least five.

This way, you'll meet the shipping criteria and be able to check out. This requirement is only for single items from our meats and cheeses categories.

All of our "Packs & Bundles" and Merchandise, and Gift Cards do not require a minimum of five items, as they already meet the shipping criteria.

Shipping insurance is provided by ROUTE (third party company) and is automatically selected for your convenience.

We highly recommend keeping this option, as it fully covers any loss, damage, or shipping-related issues. ROUTE will offer a full refund for your purchase or arrange a replacement order at no additional cost.

Please note, that if you choose to deselect this insurance, we cannot be held responsible for any loss, damage, or shipping errors, and no refund will be provided.

However, if there’s a mistake on our part or something is missing from your order, we will gladly send a replacement or offer a refund adjustment.

For any issues, please contact us at shipping@theherbivorousbutcher.com

We’d love to discuss your shipping needs! While we can certainly try to accommodate expedited shipping, there will be an additional fee based on the request. Please email us at shipping@theherbivorousbutcher.com with the details, and we’ll work on finding the best solution for you!

Prices for Shipping Orders:

For our shipping orders, the shipping cost is built into each product, so no additional shipping costs are added at checkout.

We have a "5-product minimum requirement" that applies to our meats and cheeses. You can find more details about this requirement in the FAQ below.

Only order from this section if you are having your order shipped to you through UPS anywhere in the 50 states and Puerto Rico.

Prices for Local Orders:

For our local orders, we have created a SQUARE site where you'll find everything available at the shop.

The prices are different since no shipping costs are needed, and you are picking up your order yourself. You can select your desired date and time to pick up your order.

Only order from this site if you are picking up your order locally during open hours at our shop in NE, Minneapolis, MN.

Prices for Delivery Platforms (DoorDash, GrubHub, and UberEats):

DoorDash, GrubHub, and UberEats charge us fees and commissions on each order placed through them. You'll notice that all prices for meats, cheeses, ready-to-eat items, and retail products are higher than the local prices because we are covering the costs of these fees.

We recommend using these platforms only if you are getting your order delivered.

If you are picking up the order from the shop, we recommend ordering through our SQUARE site instead to get better pricing.

You will receive a pre-shipment email from shipping@theherbivorousbutcher.com – please add this to your contacts so it doesn’t end up in your spam folder.

Your tracking number will be sent the day your order ships. If you’d like to track your package once it ships, please contact UPS with your tracking number.

We strongly encourage you to keep the Shipping Insurance box CHECKED at checkout to ensure that if anything were to happen to your order, you can file a claim and request a replacement or refund. (Route is our third-party shipping insurance).

Shipping, insulation and ice packs are included in the displayed cost. Products are perishable and must be refrigerated upon arrival.

We do not accept returns; however, if you purchased Shipping Insurance with your order and need to file a claim, we will issue a replacement or refund for your order. Please contact Route (our third-party shipping insurance provider) to initiate the process.

No substitutions are allowed, and we cannot add to or modify your order once it has been placed. Once your order has reached the production phase, we cannot cancel or refund your order.

The Herbivorous Butcher cannot ship food products to a PO or APO Box.

PLEASE TELL THE RECIPIENT TO EXPECT IT as our products are perishable! If your recipient refuses the delivery, is not available to accept the delivery or does not answer the door it will be returned to us by UPS and no longer consumable. You will need to place and pay for a new order if this occurs.

About our business

We will expand from within the company and are not accepting franchise requests at this time.

We are unable to accept EBT at this time.

Though the memories of good times remain, we sold our food truck, and it is no longer in operation through us.

Each month we help to support various non-profits and community organizations that give back to their communities. Our emphasis is on food, the environment, and animal rights. If you feel we'd be a good fit to get involved please send an email with more details about the event, your organization, and how you'd like us to help to: miguel@theherbivorousbutcher.com

Herbivorous Acres was founded in 2017 as a 501(c)3 non-profit with the mission of adjusting society’s views on farm animations, promoting a plant-based diet, and allowing animals to live out their lives with well-deserved peace and dignity.
